Silent Killer

One afternoon, I went to the Emergency Department to have a fish bone removed that had got stuck in my throat. Whilst there, the clinicians found my blood pressure was worryingly high - the silent killer - and I unexpectedly found myself spending a night in hospital, for further tests. This was during lockdown and the height of Covid-19 restrictions. This short series of images, was captured during my inpatient stay and attempts to convey some of the uncertainty, anxiety and surreal nature of finding myself unexpectedly a hospital patient, alone and under close observation.
